WARNING: POSSIBLE "CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR" SPOILERS AHEAD

The first "Captain America: Civil War" trailer was the first time that the audience saw the character of Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it's fairly obvious now that the African superhero is part of the Avengers, according to The Inquisitr, he might play a bigger role than anyone in the film.

"Captain America: Civil War" is the Black Panther's introduction into the MCU, and since Boseman has already reportedly signed on for five movies, he will be an important asset to the Avengers.

It actually begins in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Wakanda, Black Panther's isolated home, was revealed to viewers when Ulysses Klaw and Ultron exploited the locality for its "mystical vibranium resource", The Inquisitr detailed. This means that whatever Black Panther's business is in "Captain America: Civil War," it involves vibranium, which he could possibly be trying to return to his homeland.

According to Cinema Blend, while fairly little is known about Black Panther, he will be chasing down the Winter Soldier/Bucky (Sebastian Stan), who, for whatever reason, could have tampered with the vibranium supply.

In the "Captain America: Civil War" trailer, it has been implied that Black Panther is in Iron Man's team. However, it's hard to tell this early on whether the two are after the same goal. Since the Black Panther is getting a solo film slated for 2018, his introduction in "Captain America: Civil War" has certainly piqued viewers' and fans' curiosity.

Well, Kevin Feige just revealed some relevant "Captain America: Civil War" spoilers.

"The reason we introduced him in "Civil War" is because we needed a third party. We needed the fresh eyes of one who wasn't embedded with the Avengers and who has a very different point of view from either Tony or Steve. We said, 'We need somebody like Black Panther... why don't we just use Black Panther?' That's how it went in the development process," Feige told Birth.Movies.Death.

This means that aside from Black Panther, his local identity, T'Challa, will be featured in the film, and possibly his tribal chieftain father T'Chaka, who could be played by a very prominent African American actor.

"Today, pre-Civil War, post-Ultron, I think he and his father are saying, 'A bunch of vibranium just got out of here and wreaked a lot of havoc," Feige added. "Maybe we can't stay behind these borders anymore. Maybe we have to stick our heads out and make at least an attempt to be a part of the rest of the world right now, while at the same time protecting our people."

Black Panther will definitely play a dynamic role in "Civil War," which will be the character's launch pad for further action films.

"Captain America: Civil War" is slated for release on May 6, 2016.
