Arsene Wenger and Arsenal have had a great deal of success in the UEFA Champions League, but their 2012-13 season performance indicates that they may not be in European competition enxt year.

Arsenal is currently in 10th place in the EPL with just 21 points in 15 matches and the squad is slowly falling out of contention in the league. They are currently five points out of a UCL spot. Arsenal has gone three weeks without a win after losing last weekend against Swansea City. In the last six however, the record is even worse with the team only winning once (5-2 against Tottenham Hotspur). The team's offense is extremely inconsistent with 26 goals in 15 matches and they have been shut out five times. On the flipside, the team has one of the best defenses in the league with just 16 goals against.

They face an uphill battle on Saturday at home when they take on West Bromwich Albion at home. West Brom sits in 5th place with 26 points and is in a three way tie with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. Like Arsenal, they have been inconsistent and have lost two straight against Stoke City and Swansea City. Their offense is worse than Arsenal's (24 goals scored) and their defense more erratic (19 against) so this match should feature an interesting display of open play.

Prediction: This will be a fast paced match and I think that Arsenal ultimately wins it at home. 2-1 Arsenal.
