Nexus 6 (T-Mobile) owners can stop tapping that foot now - the carrier is currently rolling out Android 6.0. In fact, if you care to check "About phone" in your device, the update may be ready for upload already.

"As of Friday, the rollout for Marshmallow should have finally begun, at least if you're anywhere near a Wi-Fi network," Android Police said. "A full OTA including the cellular network will begin later."

On T-Mobile's support page, the company announced that the Google Nexus 6 has

"received a mandatory software update to Android version 6.0 / MRA58X available via Over-the-Air (OTA) and pull down over Wi-Fi only."

The page also provides steps on how to update T-Mobile Nexus 6 to Marshmallow.

First, you'll need to check your software version via Settings > About phone.

If your software version is MRA58X, it means your handset is up to date.

However, if it's LYZ28K, LYZ28J, LYZ28E, LRX22C, LRX210, or LNX07M, you'll need to upgrade.

Before doing that, your build number should already be LYZ28K. You'll also need to ensure your unit's battery life is at least 50% or higher and that you have stable data connection. See to it you have no less than 698 MB of storage space as that's the file size of the update.

You can wait for the OTA update, which begins November 20, and just follow the prompts. However, the mobile OS updates are not rolled out to all units at the same time, so don't expect to be among the first to get it.

"The build mentioned on the support page is MRA58X, which currently isn't available on Google's Nexus image download site," Android Police clarified. "That's probably because T-Mobile uses a couple of software features that aren't necessary on other carriers, particularly support for LTE band 12 and T-Mo's specific implementation of Wi-Fi calling (which hit Lollipop back in May)."

"T-Mobile was slated to push out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in October initially," Tech Times recalled. "The carrier had revealed early last month that the Nexus 6 would get updated to Marshmallow within a week."

"However, the rollout got delayed and did not get pushed out as initially planned as the carrier found a major bug," it added.

T-Mobile's product evangelist had confirmed that when the carrier tested the build, it discovered the bug, prompting it to get a new build for another round of testing.
