"Dark Souls 3" will be the last of the "Dark Souls" series.

In an interview with Game Spot, From Software President Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that "Dark Souls 3" will be the "big closure" on the series which he believes will be the mark of the company's "evolution" to make new things in the future.

"I don't think it'd be the right choice to continue indefinitely creating Souls and Bloodborne games. I'm considering Dark Souls 3 to be the big closure on the series. That's not just limited to me, but From Software and myself together want to aggressively make new things in the future," Miyazaki told Game Spot.

Miyazaki furthered that the game will mark the last game which was developed before he became president. Thus, highlighting the fact that the following titles from the company will be conceived under his helm.

"I don't care about what type of president I will be in the future or how I'll be remembered, I just believe that [moving on] is necessary in order for players to continue enjoying our games. We have to keep creating quality games and be aggressive about doing new things," the From Software President added.

According to the report by Game Rant, the words of Miyazaki might mean not only the end of "Dark Souls 3" but also the end of other souls-like titles. The report, nonetheless, cited that such action will not happen immediately.

The gaming news outlet added that it will really be surprising if From Software moved into a different genre than what it established from its Souls titles especially with the fact that Miyazaki was famous for these projects which were not only well-established but also highly venerated by fans.

However, Game Rant cited that it is understandable that Miyazaki will end "Dark Souls" with "Dark Souls 3" as escaping from a game trilogy that is as big as what "Dark Souls" has established will mark a new beginning, just what the game giant's executive official envisions for From Software.

The site also pointed that a more "experimental" From Software delving into new titles and, perhaps, multiplayer-focused games are an exciting prospect that fans of the company's games will surely like to see.

"Dark Souls 3" is an action role-playing video game developed by From Software and published by Bandai Namco. According to Game Informer, the game, which is a sequel to "Dark Souls II," will feature some key aspects such as Fast Travel, Respecialization, New Game+, Durability, Summoning and Invasion, Hidden Walls and Magic.

The game is scheduled to be released on April 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
