The upcoming buddy comedy "Dirty Grandpa" has officially released a trailer.

The movie, which stars Zac Efron and Robert DeNiro, will focus on the lighter side of what easily is the hardest time for DeNiro's character. According to Deadline, the movie is going to show a side to DeNiro that audiences haven't really seen before.

Warning! This article contains spoilers about the film.

DeNiro will be playing the role of the Grandpa, who recently lost his wife to old age. Efron will be playing an uptight by the books grandson who is about to marry his boss' daughter. DeNiro, who seems to have been hit by a late-life resurgence after the loss of his wife, wants to take his grandson on one last ride before he gets married.

Cinemablend reports that the grandpa wants his grandson to see and live a little before he eventually marries and in his words "sleep walks the rest of his life." It appears that Efron's character is marrying an equally uptight, by the books woman who is now also stressing out about their upcoming wedding.

The pair starts off on an adventure which lands them in Daytona Beach, Florida during spring break. For those who don't know or are unaware, Daytona Beach is on the biggest party towns during this time.

DeNiro's character admits that it was his wife's dying wish that he'd get back into the dating pool after her death and that he hadn't gotten laid in over 15 years. Of course, this statement and most of the events after are not to Efron's liking and chaos soon happens.

During the chaos, DeNiro actually talks Efron into letting loose for at least one night stating that he would like to have found memories of the trip and Efron agrees, leading to even more antics.

The movie so far is not anything new, as this type of storyline has been done before. However, with A-list actors such as DeNiro and Efron the story seems a lot more lively and believable as viewers seem to genuinely feel bad for Efron's character.

However the same can also be said to DeNiro's character as well, who is obviously coping with the loss of his wife in the only way he knows how. The question being asked, however, is what exactly will happen to Efron and his fiancé considering the antics he and his Grandpa do while on their trip.

"Dirty Grandpa" opens in theaters Jan. 22, 2016.
