Samsung could be releasing two new variants to the Galaxy Alpha line next year after some leaked photos have come out in the open sporting metal designs.

These new devices are believed to be the second generation variants of the Samsung Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 and will most likely make their debut in 2016.

The photos come from Chinese publication Anzhuo which also included some detailed specs on the two devices that have come out in the open.

The metal-clad Samsung Galaxy A5 (SM-A510) for instance will feature a 5.2-inch full HD display (1920x1080p) and will run on a 1.6 GHz octa-core Exynos 7 processor and Mali-T720 GPU.

It will also have 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage that is expandable through microSD, a 13 MP main camera and a 5 MP front-facing shooter. The device will reportedly come out with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on board.

For the higher Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A710) model, the device will tote a 5.5-inch full HD display paired with a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 615 processor and Adreno 405 graphics.

The Galaxy A7 will have 3GB of RAM instead while the rest of its features (internal storage, back and front camera as well as Android OS) are pretty much the same as the what the Samsung Galaxy A5 will offer.

As far as the display is concerned, there is a chance that the screen for both devices could be using SAMOLED.

While the leaked photos of the second generation devices seem like a couple of device worth looking into in 2016, the fact remains that Samsung has yet to issue an official statement on them meaning these remain rumors for now.

The new models should provide users with another potential line of handsets they can optionally get hold off, devices that seem to be inspired by the popular Samsung Galaxy S6.

With the two devices seemingly (but unofficially) out in the open, it makes you wonder if the Samsung Galaxy A3 will also get its second generation version as well. There was the belief that the A3 would get a refresh but apparently it was not included in the recently leaked images.

So would these two metal-clad devices be of interest to you next year? The Galaxy Alpha series should be ideal devices over the Galaxy S series, highlighted of course by that metal shell.

Do take note that being a rumor, the hardware specs could change in the coming months so keep an eye out for that.
