LG G3 is getting revamped in mid-December with an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The update, to begin between December 16 and December 18, will reportedly kick off in Poland on.
According to GSM Arena, news of the LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update was revealed with a report from Poland, claiming that the update is in its last stages of testing. It is perhaps worth noting that the Poland article was later updated and it said that the testing has already finished, as it quoted a tweet by LG Poland executive, Jaroslaw Bukowski, saying that the LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is ready.
In addition, the Poland report also said that the LG G3 Marshmallow update will pattern the LG G4 where the first update will be rolled out in Poland and other regions worldwide will follow suit.
The launch of the LG G3 came with an Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box version. In June of this year, according to LG, the G3 would not be getting either the Android 5.1 or 5.1.1 Lollipop updates.
According to Gadgets 360, a skip in the updates is not uncommon for LG since the company has also rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update directly from Android 4.4.2 KitKat. This held some of its mobiles back since it completely missed the chance of getting versions 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 KitKat.
Last month though, the LG G3 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update had been tipped already the previous month, after the LG G4 was reportedly spotted in official support documents.
Several tech firms have also confirmed the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates for their smartphones.

Meanwhile, devices like Nexus, Android One, Moto X Play and Moto X Style, have reportedly received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS update already.
New features that come with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow (previously called Android M) update reportedly include the following:
- revamped app permissions
- Google Now on Tap feature
- New Chrome feature Android users that will allow changes to the Web experience
- New Web link handling experience
- Android Pay mobile payment system becoming an official thing with Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- New fingerprint APIs allowing developers to add the feature into their apps
- New Silent feature for sound and vibrate mode
- There will also be a 'Do Not Disturb' mode which would completely block off all sounds, except alarms and notifications
- A battery saver feature called Doze, which will reportedly make smartphones even smarter when it comes to power management
- New RAM manager
- Adoptable storage devices
- New app drawer
- Apps' auto backup and restore
- USB Type-C ports support
