There are rumors that the Apple iPhone 7 will be released in September 2016. Others predict that the flagship phone will have an earlier launch date in the summer of 2016.
Tech Times wrote that the battery of the iPhone 7 may not be bigger compared to its predecessor. Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI Securities analyst, speculated that Apple will not change its current display, which can indicate that the battery of the iPhone 7 will also remain the same. The iPhone 6s has a 1715mAh battery at present, while the iPhone 6 has a 1810mAh battery. If the iPhone 7 introduces an AMOLED display and a thickness of 6 to 6.5mm, a bigger battery would be unlikely.
MacWorld reported that Apple is expected to feature two new iPhones in September 2016, instead of a summer release. There will most likely be a 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and a 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus. It is also possible that the company might feature a third 4-inch model. The physical design of the upcoming flagship handset will be significantly different. It is believed to be thinner than ever, incorporating the new cut-down headphone socket.
The iPhone 7 may feature the same rich density that the Retina provided for the iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus, or better. Apple might introduce tougher screen protection by using either asapphire display or the new Project Phire by Corning. The lowest storage option would be 32GB, taking out the 16GB version out. There may also be a 64GB of 128GB variant. The upcoming model may also provide USB Type-C support. It is unlikely that the iPhone 7 will have a 3D, flexible or curved screen. An edge-to-edge screen is more likely. Wireless charging may also become available, based on the same MacWorld report.

Although the removal of the Home button has been discussed, such a huge change would not happen until 2017 at least. Touch ID integration will remain in the iPhone in the next few years. Users look forward to having wireless charging, a sapphire display and a 32GB base model. Others also expect the iPhone 7 to have at least 3GB of RAM, waterproof construction, optical zoom in the rear camera and the Apple Pencil stylus. The handset will also feature several colors like Rose Gold and Space Grey, similar to its predecessors.
