It might take a while before moviegoers get to see the Guardians of the Galaxy again, as the sequel to the sleeper hit isn't due for a few years. However, it seems that actor Bradley Cooper, who voices Rocket, might have let some information about "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" out a little too soon.

According to Cinemablend, the actor was doing interviews for his current project "Burnt", in which Cooper plays a chef trying to make it in the restaurant world, when he was asked who the villain might be for the next "Guardians of the Galaxy" film.

Cooper's answered seemed legit, which is a rare slip up in the entertainment business, until it is realized that he might not actually know what he is talking about. The answer that Cooper gave to the interviewer read, "Josh Brolin is the villain right? Or he's the main villain? He was in the first one, he's what-his-face's dad.

The answer does actually state some truth, as Josh Brolin did play Thanos in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie. However, many consider it a known fact that Thanos will be playing a big part in the next few Marvel Cinematic Universe films. It seems that the actor is just mostly confused, which was confirmed when the director of the film, James Gunn, clarfied the matter on his Twitter account.

Gunn confirms that while Cooper has received a script for the sequel, the actor has yet to read it yet. Moreover, Gunn confirms that he has seen the interview, and that Cooper has not revealed anything that isn't widely known by fans of the first film.

For those who are confused, rumor has it that the statement Cooper made is that Thanos is actually the father of Chris Pratt's character, Starlord. While the statement could be interpreted that way, Gunn has not made any statement on the validity of the rumor.

With the question about who Starlord's father really is, the only thing that Gunn has confirmed is that the father of Starlord will not be the same from that of the comics. This does make sense since the way that Starlord's mother died in the movie is drastically different from what happened in the comics. The only thing for certain in this problem is that Michael Rooker's character Yondu is one of the only people who truly knows who Starlord's father is, as he was contracted to return Peter to his father but decided against it.

Slash Film reports that all of the Guardians, Chris Pratt (Starlord), David Bautista (Draxx), Zoey Saldana (Gamora), Bradley Cooper (Rocket) and Vin Diesel (Groot) have confirmed their return for the sequel.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is set to premiere on May 5, 2017.
