Bioware has released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda in celebration of the annual "N7 Day" on November 7. Jennifer Hale as Commander Shepard is narrating in the video.

"We are travelers, constantly moving forward, and looking back. Alone and as one," she said. "We have no choice but to try for our insatiable curiosity, for our fear in what should happen if we don't. You are the explorer now," the commander went on saying.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" teaser offers the first look of what appears to be a very large spacecraft. There is also a dogtag with the name "Ryder." Ars Technica is guessing that the big ship is the "mothership" used by protagonist "Ryder" as he or she tours the Andromeda galaxy. Overall, the teaser tells of the history of space travel told by different clips put together.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is officially announced during E3 held on June 15, 2015. Aaryn Flynn, Studio General Manager, BioWare Canada and Yanick Roy, Studio Director, Bioware Montreal announced that the game's release date will be in holiday of 2016. The team revealed at the time that planning and designing for the game was already in the works as they wrapped up the original Mass Effect trilogy with Mass Effect 3: Citadel in 2013. The team promised exciting new worlds to discover, great characters and intense action for "Mass Effect: Andromeda."

"The game will be taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy," the team wrote on its official blog. Gamers can play as a human, male or female. "You'll be exploring an all new-galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventures to world with, learn from, fight alongside of and fall in love with," the team promised.

Back in 2014, when the game's name was yet to be revealed, Chris Wynn, Senior Development Director, said they are taking a leap with the next game after the trilogy. "We have familiar races and familiar starting points, but since we are telling a new story and a different story, it's like you're discovering it all over again. But while there are new characters to meet and new places to visit," he wrote in a blog.

Fans should not expect that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is a continuation of the Mass Effect trilogy either, it being Mass Effect 4. As game producer Fabrice Condominas said: "If we were just doing Mass Effect 4, we would be failing in a way."
