Brace yourselves for another up and coming phenom who goes by the name of Harry Giles.

Giles stood out as perhaps the best player from the 2016 high school class though all that was somehow clouded with reports that the versatile 6-foot-10 power forward had suffered another setback with a torn ACL on his right knee.

It was the second time that the youngster had fallen to a dreaded injury, the first occurring two years ago when he suffered a torn ACL and MCL on his left knee.

Injury aside, Giles has made up his mind on which college team he is joining -- the Duke Blue Devils. The 17-year-old baller chose Duke over Kansas City, Kentucky and Wake Forest where he felt most comfortable with Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Prior to his current ACL injury, Giles had already shown that he has the tools to eventually become a top NBA player possibly in 2017.

The well-rounded big man has already shown what he can do. Just last Summer, Giles was part of the Team USA quintet that copped the gold medal in the FIBA U19 World Championships in Greece. He led Team USA in scoring and rebounding, and was obviously the most valuable player of that roster.

“This summer I just took it there. I wanted to be the best. I wanted to be dominant. I wanted to be known. I just wanted to kill all the questions about me. I’m not taking it as a joke no more. I’m serious now” says Giles via Fox Sports.

With his commitment to Duke, Giles will have to get over his ACL injury hump and try to work his way back to his deadly form. But with a full year ahead before Duke opens its 2016-17 season, Giles has enough time to recover from the ACL debacle and return to help out the Blue Devils campaign.

Like any aspiring cager, Giles is also hoping that he could make the grade and possibly invade the NBA at some point. And assuming he does get over his knee issues, there is a chance he could make big strides.

However, his knees could cost him if he does indeed tip himself as one of the top NBA prospects for the 2017 NBA Draft. One player who was under a similar situation was Nerlens Noel of the Philadelphia 76ers who went down to an ACL injury in his lone season with the University of Kentucky.

Noel went from being the potential top pick to the sixth (by the Philadelphia 76ers) in the 2013 NBA Draft but has marvelously been able to recuperate from it and is now gaining notice.

Could this be the same case for Harry Giles if he does join the NBA Draft in 2017?
