Patrick Dempsey planted kisses on Renee Zellweger's cheeks in a scene for the much awaited "Bridget Jones Baby." The two stars were spotted filming for the first time together on Friday since production started early in October.

Dempsey, who is best known as Derek Christopher Shepherd, M.D., in "Grey's Anatomy," had been shooting scenes in the U.K. for the past few weeks according to the Daily Mail. The scene shot on Friday at London's Olympic Park in Stratford was however the first time that he was spotted on the set with Zellweger.

There had been numerous incidents in the past month where Zellweger was spotted filming across London. This particular scene with Dempsey however was hugely important as it finally confirms that even without Hugh Grant, there will still be the thrilling angle of a love triangle. The scene had complicated the story for Colin Firth's character Mark Darcy and the love story between him and Bridget.

As the title suggests, Bridget may find herself unexpectedly pregnant. At the end of the "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," Mark Darcy proposed to Bridget and she said yes. During Bridget's parents' renewal of vows, she caught the bouquet.

However, now that Zellweger and Dempsey were pictured doing a scene described by Daily Mail as "a moment of PDA" what happens to Mark Darcy? On Thursday, Firth was seen shooting scene where he arrived after Dempsey and Zellweger sharing those romantic kisses, Daily Mail reported.

The first photo that has emerged from the Bridget Jones Baby was Zellweger hugging a red iPad instead of a diary and a pen. Universal Pictures UK shared the photo to confirm that filming of the third movie in the Bridget Jones franchise officially begun on Oct. 2. This was eleven years after the "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" was shown in theaters in 2004.

"Bridget Jones Baby" is expected to bow theaters on Sept. 16, 2016, the same as the U.K. release. It will be directed by Sharon Maguire who also directed "Bridget Jones Diary" in 2011.

As previously reported by Latinos Post, "Bridget Jones Baby" will not be the screen adaptation of Helen Fielding's novel "Bridget Jones: mad About the Boy" that was released in 2013. The story of "Bridget Jones Baby" takes place before the events chronicled in the 2013 novel. It is believed to be based on a separate screenplay written by Fielding.
