The case of the two Hispanic stars are somehow closely related though unlike Del Rio, Mysterio left the WWE on better terms.

While Del Rio unceremoniously left due to a racial slur with one of the WWE staff, Mysterio left to spend more time with his family, despite belief of most that there was another reason for his sudden disappearance in the WWE scene.

Like Del Rio, Mysterio is making a good account for himself in the AAA and Lucha Underground. With the stability that the former WWE high-flyer is currently enjoying, there doesn’t seem to be any reason to believe that he could entertain a return to the WWE.

Again, that was the belief as well in Del Rio’s case. No one figured that Alberto Del Rio would make a sudden return to the WWE scene until that fateful night at WWE Hell in a Cell when he became the man to send off John Cena to his planned time off.

Apparently, it was the money on the table plus the fact that he had a lighter schedule that made him one of the top paid wrestlers in the business. So if Del Rio could do it, why not Rey Mysterio too?

“Never say never,” he said. “I didn’t leave on bad terms. There was no dispute or bad intention on me leaving. So, if there is an opportunity down the road and both parties agree to it, why not.”

Seeing the crowd-favorite return is not far from happening. He doesn’t have any grudge against the WWE so that alone could be a hint of another possible stint with the WWE who is reportedly determined to perk up their Hispanic niche.

Mysterio was last seen in the WWE scene way back in April 2014, a loss to King Barrett on WWE RAW. It has been over a year since the WWE fans saw him though he was constantly in and out of shows due to varying injuries.

With lesser commitments to date, is Mysterio ready to return to the rigorous world of the WWE? If ever he does, it will be on his own terms and when he feels like he can fulfill the appearances that will be stipulated in his contract.

He could make a surprise return similar to the way that Del Rio did just recently. Aside from Mysterio saying never say never, the fact remains that the WWE is dedicated to sprucing up their Hispanic niche. And if that is indeed the case, Mysterio is indeed a figure that perfectly fits into it.
