Sandra Bullock leads an all-female cast for the new "Ocean's Eleven" film which could either be a remake, a reboot, a sequel or a spinoff. "The Hunger Games" director Gary Ross is tapped for the project.

The Playlist exclusively reported the development of the all female cast "Ocean's Eleven" film started in 2014. At the helm of the project were the late Jerry Weintrub, Steven Soderbergh who directed the "Ocean's" trilogy and the franchise's very own male lead George Clooney. The film is being written by Olivia Milch, who also penned "Queen & Country" and "Little Women."

Bullock is said to be playing a character very similar to Danny Ocean's character which was played by Clooney in the past "Ocean's" trilogy. "Ocean's Eleven" which was shown in 2001 was a remake of the 1960 film of the same name.

In the film, Danny Ocean just went out from prison but nevertheless plan a casino heist in order to have his wife back. He recruited 11 thieves and con men to pull off his plan. They targeted the Bellagio, the Mirage and the MGM Grand all owned by Terry Benedict. Their ultimate plan is to get in and out, pocketing a total of $150 million.

According to The Playlist, Bullock's role in the film "Our Brand Is Crisis" was also originally written for Clooney. This made it easier for Clooney, who will also produce the all-female cast "Ocean's Eleven" film, to imagine Bullock for the project.

According to sources who have spoken with Playlist, Clooney may appear in a cameo as Danny Ocean. Production will start after Ross finishes up with "The Free State of Jones" which will bow down theaters on May 13, 2016.

The "Ocean's" trilogy is best known for its witty comedy and can be best described as a heist. Details about the new "Ocean's Eleven" movie are being held under wraps but Collider hopes that since Clooney is appearing in a cameo, the film may as well have the whole gang do the same -- like having Brad Pitt eat something in every scene he has.

To recall, the second film of the trilogy was the "Oceans' Twelve" which was shown in 2004. The whole gang went to Europe to gather enough money to pay Terry Benedict.

The third film was "Ocean's Thirteen" shown in 2007. The gang plotted against a new casino as a way of revenge against its owner, Al Pacino.
