All the rumors about a potential large screened tablet coming out in the open has finally been confirmed.

Samsung unveiled its much speculated Samsung Galaxy View, a large tablet that sports a whopping 18.4-inch display which was obviously designed to provide users who are looking for bigger displays either for personal viewing of photos and videos or perhaps for the business and education niche.

Being large as initially reported, the Samsung Galaxy View weighs around 5.8 pounds. And seeing how big the tablet is, don’t expect to be able to fit this into your backpack or knapsack with its large dimensions (451.8 millimeters wide, 275.8 millimeters tall, and 11.99 millimeters).

The 18.4-inch screen boasts of a decent full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixels), a bit short if you consider the resolution of the Tab S2.

It draws power from an octa-core processor (1.6 GHz) that will be tasked to handle all the apps and programs installed on it. The bummer is that this big tablet may not be suited for gaming purposes, with reference to the display resolution and the processor.

Other features include 4GB of RAM and built-in storage of either 32 GB or 64 GB. If that isn’t enough, the Samsung Galaxy View does have provisions for additional space via a microSD slot.

Aside from that, the 5,700 mAh battery it comes with will reportedly be good for up to 8 hours of use. The Samsung Galaxy View will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

Other components include an upright stand and stylus, two things which could mean that artists could find it pretty handy to use.

Surely the humongous tablet will draw interest from the business sector, particularly marketing professionals who would want a reliable and large screened device to aid them when they want to show visuals to their clients.

Of course, it could be neat to have as well during board meetings, particularly when graphical reporting or product photos are shared with other people in the mix.

With schools slowly shifting to the modern age of tablets as well, using this tablet will surely be neat as well. Rather than limit themselves to smaller tablets where text displays may need more magnification, the larger screen should address those concerns as well.

While Samsung has unveiled quite a monster of a tablet, it remains to be seen if this 18.4-inch Galaxy View will actually hit the market. With that said, pricing is unknown for now so until the Korean company decides to release it out in the open, just ponder first on the possibilities on what you would do with such a large display in tow.
