Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have split after a four-year relationship, according to multiple sources, and it appears that it's for good this time.

"There was no drama, they've been apart while working. They still care about each other," the source told PEOPLE.

"They still have a lot of love for one another and they are on good terms with each another and remain close. It just wasn't working," the insider added.

In April, PEOPLE said that the 32-year-old actor and 26-year-old actress have taken a break after problems with their long-distance relationship.

A source told Us Magazine at the time that the "Spider-Man" co-stars have been fighting a lot.

Both stars have been busy with their movie schedules.

Emma Stone is set to appear in the 2016 musical film "La La Land," directed by Damien Chazelle and starring alongside Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling for the third time.

Meanwhile, Andrew Garfield has been busy filming the Martin Scorsese-directed film, "Silence," which filmed in Taiwan at the time. The 2016 film stars Adam Driver and Liam Neeson.

Apparently, the film made Garfield too busy to accompany Emma at the Golden Globes and the Oscars, where she was both nominated for "Best Supporting Actress." Garfield is also set to star in the Mel Gibson-directed "Hacksaw Ridge, starring alongside Vince Vaughn and Sam Worthington.

A source reportedly opened up about the couple experiencing relationship strains stemming from their work schedules, especially that they have already discussed marriage at one point.

"[Andrew has] thrown himself in the project to the detriment of all else. But it's too early to say the relationship is over... Emma understands his work anxieties - it's why she originally pulled out of Cabaret last year and only did it this year - but they're taking a break from seeing each other. They're both a slave to their schedules. This time last year they were privately discussing marriage," the source said.

However, in May, the duo seemed to have gotten back together as they were spotted holding hands and going out together to eat pancakes.

Emma and Andrew met during filming of the 2011 film, "The Amazing Spider-Man." They have been quiet about their relationship ever since, especially during interviews, according to The Inquisitr.

"I never talk about this stuff for this exact reason - because it's all so speculative and baseless," Stone said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal when she was asked about Andrew following their break.

The last time the pair was seen together was in August in Los Angeles. They were also seen together in Venice, Calif. in May.

Representatives for both Hollywood actors have yet to comment on the Andre Garfield Emma Stone split.
