A little-known fact about Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilms is that the entertainment juggernaut not only acquired the rights to the "Star Wars" franchise but to the "Indiana Jones" franchise as well.

According to Screen Rant, the acquisition by Disney has revived rumors of the fifth "Indiana Jones" installment once again. However, considering that Harrison Ford is well into his 60s, another question has risen: will there be a new Indiana Jones?

Well, if you take the word of "Indiana Jones" producer Frank Marshall, the answer to that question is a no. Den of Geek reports that Marshall and his team are currently trying to "work out" how to pass the baton, or should we say fedora, of the famous archaeologist to a younger actor.

Marshall has gone on record saying that the franchise will not take the route of other famous franchises such as James Bond and place a younger actor in the movie and just start calling him Indiana Jones. One such attempt to "work out" how to put a younger person in the Indiana role was done in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull", in which Ford played an older Jones to the younger pupil played by Shia LaBeouf.

Fans of the franchise are still reeling on how poorly the film was received, and many actually blame the movie for the hesitation in making the fifth film.

Seeing how hard Marshall's stance is on the matter is quite surprising considering that complete reboots for film franchises have become quite the normal practice around Hollywood. The trend started when J.J. Abrams brought a whole new cast and crew to start as the iconic crewmen of the USS Enterprise in the "Star Trek" reboot. The movie went on to be a smash hit and made a lot of money in the box office.

Some believe that Marshall's views are caused by the fact that Lucasfilms is now owned by Disney, and it could be the studio's call to keep Ford in as Indiana Jones. While still a rumor, it could be a simple enough of a reason to consider.

Many fans are actually siding with Marshall, stating that it would be almost impossible to see any one besides Harrison Ford putting on the fedora and donning the bull whip.

What do you think about Ford coming back for another Indiana Jones adventure? Who would you want see play Dr. Jones if not Ford? Let us know in the comments below.
