The internet is losing it over a costume they never thought could be attractive at all. An Australian high School student transformed the wise wizard, Gandalf, of J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" into a "sexy" costume for her senior Muck Up Day, as BuzzFeed reports is a senior class tradition where high school seniors dress up and play pranks on each other.
As a result of Tjitske Van Vark's sexy little number, "Lord of the Rings" fans are geeking out over the risqué rendition achieved by the 18-year old. Making what appears to be a few alteration's to the typical wizard robe, the racy costume now dons a thigh-high slit exposing fishnet stockings. Vark, however, stays true to keeping the essence of the character, wearing a chest-length gray wig and beard.
The picture captioned, "Our last day of school involved dressing up and I took it upon myself to be the sexiest one there" has since gone viral since Van Vark posted it to Tumblr. She has received over 74,000 likes.
Van Vark returned to Tumblr to comment on the aftermath of her newfound viral success. She wrote, "I'm honestly not sure what I find funniest about the unexpected success of my sexy gandalf (costume), the people that are slightly turned on and very confused, the people that are unashamed and direct #yassss gandalf give me leg, the countless marriage proposals, the unanimous agreement that this is the only acceptable sexy halloween version of a costume, Tons of new cute messages saying I'm cute/hot etc (I'm glad you could all see beyond my hot grandpa beard wow)" and "the innocent numerous cuties that think it's Dumbledore (shh don't tell them)."
How adorable. She even coins the whole cyber phenomenon as "the thirst for Gandalf."
Not only has Van Vark gained new followers, but other Tumblr users are going to her for costuming advice.
