The MLS 2012 season comes to an end on Saturday and so does David Beckham's historic run for the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Beckham was a member of the Galaxy from 2007 until 2011. He signed a new contract shortly after 2011 season, but has stated that after the final Saturday he is done with his MLS career. In the 2012 season, he scored seven goals in 28 matches though none in the playoffs.

His team won the championship last season against the Houston Dynamo on home field and are poised to repeat the feat for what could be their record tying fourth championship. DC United currently leads the MLS with four championships. With Beckham leaving and Landon Donavan's career uncertain, LA's soccer club could no longer be a contender next season.

LA ended the season as the fourth best club in the Western conference and had to face off against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in a one game playoff. They won 2-1 and then went on to take on San Jose Earthquakes. The first match was a 1-0 loss, but the second was a 3-1 victory on the road, which guaranteed them passage to the Western conference final. They won their home game to the Seattle Sounders 3-0, but lost the following one 2-1. The goal aggregate favored them 4-2.

Meanwhile Houston finished fifth in the Eastern conference and defeated the Chicago Fire 2-1 in their one game playoff. They followed it up with a 2-0 win over Sporting Kansas City. Though they lost the following match 1-0, the 2-1 aggregate favored them and set up a matchup with DC United. Houston dispatched DC United with a 3-1 win in the first match and a 1-1 draw in the second.

Prediction: Beckham has had a historic career and I think it will be a happy ending for him in the MLS. 2-0 Galaxy in front of their fans.
