Halloween is a time of year when there are more children than normal running around the streets at night. A new costume known for its ability to reduce the visibility of the wearer is raising major concerns for the safety of children this holiday.

The popular black bodysuit costume, also known as 2nd skin and morp skin, practically turns children invisible at night. During TODAY's Rossen Report, reporters aired a video detailing just how difficult it is for a driver to see a child wearing that costume at night.

Moreover, it also reduces the child's visibility. The "second skin" body suit comes in other colors, like green, purple, and orange, but it is the black suit, the most popular of its kind, that is a cause for concern. TODAY's investigative reporter Jeff Rossen even places the body suit over the camera to reveal just how impaired vision becomes when wearing the invisibility bodysuit.

Furthermore, Rossen details children that are trick or treating on Halloween night are more than twice as likely to become injured by getting hit by a car than any other day of the year.

With a safety expert in tow, Rossen hops in a car and drives around a suburban neighborhood to try and spot a children's mannequin that has been dressed in the bodysuit before it is too late. As the video reveals, Rossen drives right past it. However, as the safety expert, explains the mannequin is not moving, however an actual child would be, possibly running across the street, meaning he could have it.

Safety experts advise placing bright colored objects on the bodysuit, including glow-in-the-dark necklaces, glow sticks, and reflectors so drivers can see them as they make their way through residential streets on Halloween.

Some retailers boast the suits ability to make children "disappear" while others, like FindCostume.com, leave tips on how to use the outfit as a base for another costume idea. "Use this 2nd skin body suit as the foundation for a ninja costume, put some question marks on your suit and you can dress up as a mystery man."

Regardless, parents are advised to keep a watchful eye and take necessary precautions with their kids this year, especially if they insist on wearing the invisibility morph skin costume.
