There is still quite a while before "Transformers 5" hits theaters. It will not begin shooting until 2016 for its 2017 release date. But already Hasbro studios president Stephen Davis revealed that not just one, but three other "Transformers" films are already in the works.

"So stay tuned, Transformers 5 is on its way, and 6 and 7 and 8," Davis said in his remark as the keynote speaker during the MIP Junior 2015 held in Cannes.

According to the official MIP Junior blog, Davis went about telling that they have plotted out the next 10 years of the "Transformers" franchise. By "they," he meant nine of the most creative writers he has worked with. This group of writers mapped out "Transformers" movies until 2025, he said.

In September, Deadline reported that the "Transformers" writer's room had "Black Hawk Down" scribe Ken Nolan, Christina Hodson and Lindsey Beer, "Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman, "Iron Man" scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, "Pacific Rim 2's" Zak Penn, "Amazing Spider-Man 2" and "Lost's" Jeff Pinkner, "Spartacus" creator and "Daredevil" showrunner Steven DeKnight and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

It was Akiva Goldsman who was tasked to write "Transformers 5;" while "Ant-Man" writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari will write a Transformers animated feature which story focuses on Cybertron.

In the video of his keynote speech, first reported by TFW2005, Davis said Hasbro will continue to work with Paramount and Michael Bay and other partners for the "Transformers" films. Mapping out the franchise for the next ten years to come, which took them over a three-month period of time, is an incredible experience, Davis said. He singled out Goldsman, an Academy Award winner for "A Beautiful Mind," as the "shepherd" who guided the writers as they plot out the next ten years of "Transformers."

With this confirmation of three other films after "Transformers 5," the latter film could actually plant the seeds for what could be spinoffs, sequels or prequels for Transformers 6, 7, and 8. According to a report from ScreenRant, there had been rumors claiming that "Transformers 5" will have dual plotlines. It will reportedly follow the journey of Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) on Earth and Optimus Prime as he head to space.

In addition, the outlet noted that Dinobots will make a comeback and will fight alongside the other Autobots. Together with Yeager, they will fight against new enemies to save the Earth. While all this is happening on Earth, Optimus is searching for the Quintessons, the alien race which are connected to Cybertron.

What do you like to see in the next slate of "Transformers" films?
