Daniel Craig would rather harm himself than get paid to play a world famous spy again.

In an interview with Time Out, he let his real feelings about making yet another James Bond film known without mincing his words.

When asked whether he can imagine making another installment of the successful franchise, he replied, "Now? I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists."

"No, not at the moment. Not at all," he went on emphatically. "That's fine. I'm over it at the moment. We're done. All I want to do is move on."

However, when prodded with a follow up question on the same topic, he appeared to vacillate to the other position.

"'I haven't given it any thought," he replied, when asked if he wants to move on from 007 forever.

"For at least a year or two, I just don't want to think about it," he explained. "I don't know what the next step is. I've no idea. Not because I'm trying to be cagey. Who the fuck knows?"

"At the moment, we've done it. I'm not in discussion with anybody about anything. If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money," he added.

This response is understandable, considering he's just fresh off filming "Spectre," the upcoming Bond movie. Perhaps he'll be more willing to do another Bond flick when they ask him again next year?

When asked if he minds who steps into Bond's shoes after him, Craig said he doesn't care any less about that.

"All I care about is that if I stop doing these things we've left it in a good place and people pick it up and make it better. Make it better, that's all," The Guardian quoted him as saying.

The actor also clarified he won't be making any 007 cameos once he's done with the franchise. Further, he also made it clear that whoever will be offered or will be cast as the next James Bond, he'll only tell him not to make a bad job out of the role.

"Go for it. Embrace it. Some clichéd line like that. But no, just make sure you're great. You've got to push yourself as far as you can. It's worth it, it's James Bond," he said.

Craig also mentioned wanting to work on his fourth Bond film with "Skyfall" director Sam Mendes, and working up a sweat with the prospect of Mendes not coming back for another installment. However, to the actor's relief, things worked out and Mendes came back on board.

Interestingly, the director originally thought Craig wasn't the right choice for Bond, and it was not because he lacked respect for the actor.

"They said 'your old friend and collaborator Daniel Craig has been suggested as Bond, what do you think?' and I said 'terrible idea - he shouldn't do it'," he revealed, as noted by CinemaBlend. "For me at the time I thought Bond had become the opposite of what Daniel is - a slightly disengaged, urbane jokey eyebrow-raising, you know, a pastiche in a way, and I felt Daniel's reality and his passion and honesty as an actor would not work."

Fortunately, Craig's portrayal of the Martini-drinking spy turned the modern caricature of a character into a gritty and intense personality that did favors to the franchise's longevity and box office success.
