"Walking Dead" has been very well known for being a show where no character is safe. In fact, only five of people from Rick's Atlanta group remain. This includes Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and fan favorite Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus).

However, rumors have been circulating that another of the Atlanta Originals is slated to die in season 6 of the hit show.

Warning! Spoilers may follow.

In a recent interview with New York Times, Steven Yeun states that he is afraid for Glenn, as well as for many of the people who are living in the Alexandria community. The feeling that Yeun is getting can be further intensified with the news that the casting call for the character Negan has been put out by the show's creators.

For those who are not familiar with the "Walking Dead" comic book, Negan is the leader of a group of survivors in the Washington D.C. area called the Saviors. Negan is seen as a villainous character as he and his group raid surrounding survivor camps and force them into "sharing" half of their supplies with the Saviors. In the comic, Negan and about 50 of his group members ambush Rick and his group. When Negan forces a deal with Rick, he takes out his weapon of choice, a barbwire baseball bat he calls Lucille.

Negan then takes a random member of the group to drive through his "deal" that was made with Rick. Unfortunately, that person is Glenn. After attempting to talk his way out of it, Negan proceeds to beat Glenn to death in front of Rick and Maggie.

So what does this mean for the TV series? It has yet to be confirmed, but International Business Times reports that executive producer Gale Anne Hurd has stated that the show will try as much as possible to follow the comic book when it comes to introducing Negan. Hurd also states that Negan is a necessary character for the story to progress.

If the character of Negan does make an appearance in season 6 of the "Walking Dead", it is safe to assume that Glenn's death scene may soon follow suit. While it may be a tragic end for  one of the longest surviving characters of the show, Glenn's death shows that Rick and his group must further evolve to deal with the harsh new world or get left behind.

The "Walking Dead' returns for season 6 starting October 9 at 9 pm on AMC.
