‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ fans were hit by a double dose of spoiler goodness this week as set photos from the film leaked on the web and lead actor Josh Hutcherson spilled secrets about the highly anticipated sequel to ‘The Hunger Games.’ Hutcherson, 20, spoke to MTV’s Josh Horowitz and said that parts of the film were being shot in IMAX.

"They actually built a cornucopia in Atlanta that we shot at, and it looks amazing, and the way that the spokes got out, and the way everyone comes up on the pedestals and the water — it looks incredible," Hutcherson spilled. "I've seen some of the CG renderings that [director] Francis [Lawrence] has worked on, and they look really, really great."

The actor, who plays Peeta Mellark opposite Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), added that scenes in the arena will be shot in IMAX. "So when you go see it in IMAX, you'll see the regular movie when we're in the Districts and in the Capitol,” he explained. “When you see us go up in the pod in the games, it will open up into IMAX. It will be amazing. It's very cool."

According to MTV News, the first film in the popular series by Suzanne Collins, was shown in IMAX theatres despite not being shot in that format. In June, Lionsgate announced that ‘Catching Fire,’ which focuses on the 75th annual Hunger Games (Quarter Quell), would be partially shot in the larger format.

Meanwhile, photos from the film’s Hawaii set were leaked online showing Hutcherson with fellow stars Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Sam Claflin (Finnick) and Lynn Cohen (Mags). The leaked photos show the group diving and swimming near some platforms in the ocean in skin-tight wetsuits. Previous set photos from when the cast was shooting in Georgia surfaced online in late September.

The second film in the series, ‘Catching Fire,’ will pick up after Hunger Games victors Katniss and Peeta return to District 12 before setting off to their Victors Tour around Panem. The two will then head out to the third annual Quarter Quell. A full cast list for the film was released in September, following weeks of intense speculation.

In early November, it was announced that ‘Catching Fire’ director Francis Lawrence will also direct the series’ third and fourth films, ‘Mockingjay’ Parts 1 and 2.

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ is scheduled for theatre release on November 22, 2013.
