The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is set to launch soon. The new OS is rumored to debut on the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, and will eventually roll out on other devices, particularly the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and Note 5.

Pocket-Lint wrote that although Samsung might announce an OS update schedule, the actual roll out may happen about one month after. Users should expect some delay and there can be differences depending on the network and location. YouMobile revealed that the following Samsung devices will receive the Android Marshmallow update soon.

• Samsung Galaxy Note 5
• Samsung Galaxy S6
• Samsung S6 Edge+
• Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos
• Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
• Samsung Galaxy Note 4
• Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Duos
• Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
• Samsung Galaxy Alpha
• Samsung Galaxy Tab A

More devices are expected to be added in the following weeks. Android Pit reported that the Samsung flagship models will most likely receive the Android 6.0 M first, either before the end of 2015 or early in 2016. Samsung has yet to confirm whether other Samsung devices will also receive the OS update and when.

Sam Mobile cited a Korean source which claimed that Samsung appears to be packaging a major firmware update for the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5. These devices are all running on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in the meantime, so the next update will most likely be the Android 6.0 M. There is still no confirmation but the update is expected to be bigger compared to previous ones.

Based on the same report by YouMobile, the Android Marshmallow are expected to provide a wide array of enhancements, fixes and new capabilities to handsets and tablets. There will be app permissions which allows users to control apps and determine which ones should have access or not. Android M lets users track the memory of their devices so they can see which app is consuming the most space and manage these accordingly. There is a quick finger print access to unlock the device as well as log in platforms such as Google’s Play Store. The Auto Backup will automatically save user data and settings onto Google Drive, which will store up to 25MB per app. There is also the new Doze power-saving feature that will minimize battery consumption by reducing processes in the background if the phone has been idle for some time.

More updates and details on the Android Marshmallow roll out on Samsung Galaxy devices are expected soon.
