The new Android 6.0 Marshmallow will soon be rolling out several new HTC smartphone devices. Some devices have already been confirmed to receive the OS update soon, while others are still waiting to be officially included in the list.

Phandroid wrote that the HTC devices confirmed to get the Android 6.0 M update over the next days and weeks include the HTC Butterfly 2, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC One M9, HTC One M9 Plus, HTC One E9 Plus, HTC One ME, HTC One E9, HTC One M8 Plus, HTC One M8, HTC One M8s, HTC Desire EYE, HTC One M8 EYE, HTC Desire 816, HTC Desire 826 and HTC Desire 820.

This list of 15 products is still preliminary, so users can expect a few more to be added in the following weeks, online leakster @LlabTooFer stated. There is also the possibility that some of the mentioned devices will be taken off the list. HTC did not promise to update devices that are more than 18 months old. Users can check the ROM community page for support.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to launch on Sept. 29, 2015, together with the new Google Nexus 5X by LG. The handset is expected to run on the new OS out of the box. Nexus devices are predicted to be the first to get the Android update, followed by Samsung products. The roll out on HTC devices is not yet known, but it will be available soon via over-the-air (OTA). The roll out will also be done in phases, so HTC users may receive the updates at different times or days, depending on their area, based on the same Yibada report. Users will get a notification that the software is already available. They can also manually check and update by going to Settings > About Device > Check for Updates.

The Android 6.0 M is set to provide a variety of enhancements and features in devices. BGR revealed that Android Marshmallow will provide fingerprint scanner support, improved Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth 4.2, a new API level 23 for better animations, 4G LTE connectivity, visual voicemail support, a new Memory section in Settings, the new Doze and App Standby power-saving features, Android Pay support and USB Type-C Support, among others. It is also expected to provide a number of fixes to existing bugs and issues.

An official announcement regarding the release date of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected from HTC or Google in the following weeks.
