The premiere of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is less than a week away, and fans are clamoring for news on what to expect for this season.

One of the many storylines that fans of the show are wondering about is that of the ultimate fate of Simmons and how Fitz is trying to rescue her. Some of the following content may contain spoilers. Readers, you have been warned.

According to Comic Book Resources, Simmons was absorbed into a Kree stone and was thought to be dead at the end of season two. Fitz has been reported to have found a way to possibly save Simmons from the stone or at least determine how the stone itself works.

Design Trend reports that Fitz is doing everything in his power to find the answer he seeks. During the course of the season, Fitz will find himself traveling off world and into Asgard to see if Thor could help him in his quest. This could mean that Lady Sif, Jaimie Alexander, could make another appearance on the show. As fans of the show know, Lady Sif did make an appearance during the first season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," and was favorably received.

It has not been confirmed which Asgardian will help Fitz with the Kree stone, but fans of the show are still hoping that Thor could make an appearance or cameo for the show. This is not unprecedented as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) have both made brief cameos on the show.

Zap 2 It has stated that there will be a considerable time jump from season 2 to season 3 of the show. Elizabeth Henstridge, who plays Simmons, has said that the jump is so considerable that Coulson and the rest of the team have come to terms with the loss of her character. Henstridge has said that she is sure that by this time on the show, the entire team has done whatever they think is possible to do and have come to realize that it is finally time to move on.

The actress says that she knows that Fritz will never stop trying and that his determination may be the deciding factor in her character's ultimate fate.

Season 3 will also be focusing more on the Inhuman threat and less on H.Y.D.R.A. compared to the previous seasons. While the threat is not entirely gone, it is now not the team's main focus. This could be used for the hype leading into the "Inhumans" movie scheduled for Marvel's Phase 3.

Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." premiers Sept. 29 on ABC.
