The Android M 6.0 Marshmallow version is rumored to start rolling out on the LG G2, G3 and G4 models very soon. There are also reports that the new Nexus 6 model will feature the OS out of the box.

Neurogadget reported that there are talks of Google launching the Nexus 6 on September 29, 2015. The smartphone is said to run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, as expected by many. Venture Capital Post wrote that the Nexus 6 features an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 5.7-inch display.

The LG flagship and pioneer G series will also reportedly be moving straight to the Android Marshmallow. LG might skip the update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, in the same manner that they moved past the Android 4.4.4 KitKat before. Some LG users might have preferred to upgrade to Android 5.1.1 first which would have effectively improved the performance and fixed several bugs on their handsets. Yibada cited that the Android Marshmallow will provide several features such as USB Type-C support for Android Pay, RAM Manager, Personalized Chrome tabs and Network Reset Option, among others. Performance enhancement and bug fixes are also expected.

A number of major mobile carriers in the United States, namely AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and US Cellular are said to be preparing their devices for upgrades, including the Android Marshmallow, Venture Capital Post wrote. The LG G4 is expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update first before the end of 2015. The LG G2 and LG G3 are expected to receive a notification much later.

Slash Gear reported that the Android M update on the LG G4 is very likely, although it is still uncertain whether the LG G3 will also get the same treatment. Other LG devices are also expected to receive an OS update. The Android will be LG’s own modified version of Marshmallow. The list of LG products also includes the LG G Flex 2 and LG G Pad 10.1. It is still unconfirmed whether the LG G Flex, LG G Pad X 8.3 and LG G Pad II 8.0 will have an update. The LG G Pad II 10.0 will release with the Android 4.4.4 KitKat but will most likely get an Android 6.0 update before 2015 ends. There are rumors that the LG G2 might not receive the Android M update at all.

An official confirmation from Google or LG on the Android Marshmallow roll out is expected soon.
