Google is set to launch the new Nexus 5 (2015) or Nexus 5X, made by LG, on September 29, 2015. A lot of users are pitting the upcoming smartphone with the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. Here are the details to determine which one is better.

Neurogadget reported that the Nexus 5 (2015) or Nexus 5X will have a plastic back. It will have slim edges and a thicker middle region. The device will come in three colors – black, white and blue. The smartphone is said to measure 146.9 x 72.9 x 8/9.8mm. It will also have a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution and a pixel density of 424ppi. It has a fingerprint scanner below the camera.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact will feature a frosted glass back and metal sides. The smartphone will come in four colors – white, graphite black, coral and yellow. It is said to measure 127 x 65 x 8.9mm and weighs 138 grams. The Z5 Compact has a 4.6-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels with 323pi. The smaller and lighter device will be dust and water-resistant. The fingerprint scanner is found on the power button.

The LG Nexus 5X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset and up to 3GB of RAM. The smartphone might feature at least two variants in terms of the nonexpendable internal memory. The available options may be 16GB, 32GB or 64GB. The handset is rumored to have a 13-megapixel rear camera with a two-tone LED flash and laser autofocus. It will also have a 5-megapixel selfie shooter, based on the same report by Neurogadget.

The Z5 Compact is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. It has a 32GB of expandable internal memory with a microSD card slot that allows users to have up to 200GB of space. It will feature a 23-megapixel rear camera with face detection, HDR, LED flash and video recording at 2160p@30fps. It will also have a 5.1-megapixel front camera.

Yibada revealed that the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact is the smallest in the latest line of Xperia flagship models. The front and back plate feature a unique frost glass finish. The edges are rimmed with metal material, giving it a premium appearance. The Nexus 5X has glass on the exterior, although it might lose some aesthetic points because of the plastic material. In terms of speed and cameras, the Z5 Compact has the advantage with its octa-core processor and 23-megapixel shooter. The Nexus 5X has the edge in terms of display and resolution.
