The speculation for what Samsung will do next continues, and this time it is for the Galaxy S2.

The latest rumors come in the form of the Galaxy S2 Plus, which reports believe will see a debut date of very early 2013.

Speculation on the Galaxy S2 Plus first made waves in the summer, same time as word came the Galaxy S3 Mini started. However, the summer period also saw strong speculation and reports about rival iPhone 5 by Apple.

With the new Apple smartphone out for almost three months, tech fans are awaiting Samsung's next move.

Reports of the Galaxy S2 Plus was noted by Sam Mobile, in a report dating back in August stating the new device will have a 4.5-inch AMOLED screen, 1.5 Dual-core processor, eight-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, and offers a microSD card slot.

The report disappeared but was obtained on time by Android Authority.

Sam Mobile is back with news about the Galaxy S2 Plus, stating it will come in two color options: "Chich White" and "Dark Blue."

An insider added that the smartphone will only be available in 8GB internal storage instead of the initial report of 16GB. In addition, the operating system will be the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and utilize the Nature UX, which is Samsung's latest TouchWiz interface.

Sam Mobile adds that Samsung will likely make a formal announcement about the smartphone in December or January.

The expected release date for the Galaxy S2 Plus is speculated to be during the first quarter of 2013.
