"Iron Man 4" has yet to begin production and a script connected with the movie is still awaiting release.

However, according to Master Herald, Marvel is looking at a possible link between long time Spiderman girlfriend/wife Mary Jane Watson and Tony Stark. This is due to the fact that in the "Invincible Iron Man" comic, the current story line is set to have MJ becoming a regular in the series.

What does that mean for Spiderman?

In the comic book series, Mary Jane and Peter Parker have officially broken up after the events of the Superior Spiderman and "One Moment in Time" arcs. Writer of the "Invincible Iron Man" Brian Michael Bendis confirms that MJ did once live in the Avengers Tower and that the pair do know each other.

While this notion of Watson and Stark might work in the comics, how would it relate to the current state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? News Rama reports that the exact nature of the relationship between Watson and Stark has not yet been released, so it could be completely professional as "Iron Man" could hire MJ as a personal assistant - much like how he related to Black Widow in "Iron Man 2."

A romantic relationship for Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with MJ could be difficult as well, as it is pretty much confirmed that Stark and long-time assistant, now CEO of Stark Enterprises, Pepper Potts, are currently engaged romantically. Meanwhile, the two have never been romantically connected in the comic books, with Potts eventually marrying Happy Hogan.

Robert Downey, Jr. is still set to play "Iron Man" in the next installment of the series, which may not debut until 2019 when Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe finishes. Currently, the character of Iron Man will be playing a vital role in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War" movie as Stark leads his team of heroes against Captain America's group.

Iron Man will also be playing a big part in the "Infinity Wars" movies as a founding member of the Avengers. The team will take on the Mad Titan Thanos. As the "Infinity Wars" movies have been the culminating point for almost all MCU movies since Phase 1, fans are clamoring to see how all the movies tie in.

Do you think Iron Man is going to break the bro code? Do you think it would translate well into the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Let us know in the comments below.
