There are talks that Google’s next smartphone model, the Nexus 5 (2015), will be called the Nexus 5X. It will be manufactured by LG and will feature a number of powerful specifications.

Neurogadget reported that the Nexus 5X is believed to be set for a September 29, 2015 launch. The handset will reportedly feature Android Pay service, USB Type-C support, Bluetooth 4.2 and a fingerprint scanning technology. The LG Nexus 5X will also have a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and will have 3GB of RAM. The device will have either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The phone will be the first device to run on the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It will also be powered by a 2,700mAh battery.

Other sources reported that the Nexus 5X might have a 4-megapixel secondary camera, a 3,180mAh battery and 64GB of internal storage. PC Advisor wrote that the device may have a full-HD P-OLED screen, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor, up to 64GB of internal memory and a 3,180mAh battery. The design will also feature a metal construction instead of plastic. Some reports say that the 5X may have an aluminum frame with chamfered edges plus a plastic rear cover. Gizmo China mentioned that the phone may have a MediaTek connectivity chipset, a rear power button with integrated fingerprint scanner and front-facing speakers. The specifications are not yet confirmed, so users should take these with a grain of salt.

Leakster @Onleaks provided a number of images of the upcoming smartphone, with its 5.2-inch screen and a metal body. The photos also showed the handset in a Ringke case. Some of the features were shown, such as the fingerprint scanner, front facing speakers and USB-Type C. The device will measure 146.9 x 72.9 x 8/9.8mm. Leaked images showed that the phone might come in at least two colors – black and white.

As for the price, Android Authority stated that the LG Nexus 5X might be available at a retail price of under $400. Google might be returning to its previous strategy of offering high-end phones at mid-range prices. The 5X will most likely be introduced in October or November 15, while the Nexus 6 will release sometime in 2016. More news and details about the smartphone are expected soon.
