After Lionsgate and "Power Rangers" co-creator Haim Saban of Saban Brands announced last year that they will team up to produce a movie reboot of 'Power Rangers,' many fans who grew watching the TV series of the popular teenage superhero group became excited.

Now, although fans expected that the filming of the movie will be this year, it has been reported that the movie reboot will instead start filming on January 18, 2016 until April in Vancouver, Canada.

According to YVRShoots, the Directors Guild of Canada released a file of current productions wherein Dean Israelite, the Director of the new 'Power Rangers' movie, is listed as Director under a title called "SHIRT" which could be the code name for the movie through the duration of the filming.

Nonetheless, as mentioned by Screen Rant, since the filming dates are always subject to changes, any more delay in the production could possibly affect the already moved 2017 released date for the film. The report also explained that the planned release date for the movie is already a wise move despite the month being considered as a dumping ground for movies studios "want off their slate."

Previous reports have already revealed the alleged opening act details of the "Power Rangers" movie reboot. In an article by Heroic Hollywood, it cited that the movie's story started in the cretaceous period, 65 million years ago, where the first power rangers led by Zordon fight with Rita Repulsa.

The report mentioned that when Zordon used a black hole to defeat the enemy, it instead transported them in the future with Rita Repulsa landing in Russia while Zordon reappeared in a room as a "light" or "ethereal vision". Repulsa then woke up and started collecting gold from the planet in order to revive the monster "Goldar."

Meanwhile, five 17-year old teenagers named Jason (Red Ranger), Billy (Blue Ranger), Zack (Black Ranger), Kimberly (Pink Ranger) and Trini (Yellow Ranger) were able to obtain five coins that were previously owned by the first Power Rangers when Billy and Jason first discovered it in when digging a T-Rex fossil. The characters for the movie are all inspired by the original shows character names as well as traits.

The movie that will be directed by Israelite, who also helmed Project Almanac, will also bring Robert Orci (Star Trek) as Executive Producer together with "X-Men: First Class" writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.

The Movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on January 13, 2017.
