Fans of "American Horror Story: Hotel," which premieres on Oct 7, should brace themselves for a scene they might not be able to watch in their entire lives. The show's co-creator Ryan Murphy promised "the most disturbing scene we've done so far." It will be a sex scene between two drug addicts where a dildo-wielding monster appears. This particular dildo is metal, pointed and again, the monster is wielding it.
According to the show's creator, Ryan Murphy, this monster is The Addiction Demon. It is the physical manifestation of drug addiction and "what people go through fighting addiction," Murphy told Entertainment Weekly. He added that The Addiction Demon's characterization was "not done lightly or blithely. "It's very powerful and strong," Murphy described more. The sex scene involves Sarah Paulson who plays the role of Hypodermic Sally and AHS newcomer Max Greenfield who plays the role of Gabriel, Sally's lover.
Asked to speak about the sex scene, Greenfield was extra teasing; hinting that Murphy had pushed her to her full capacity of handling such passionate scene. "Ryan gets real pleasure out of how far, I think, he can push it. I think we were like, 'F- yeah, man. Let's push this and let's see how far we can go," Greenfield told Entertainment Weekly.
For Paulson, on the other hand, filming the scene was just a walk in the park. She had been with AHS for five seasons now and had grown immune to surprises like this. "I walk in and I'm like 'Hello conical dildo demon person.' I don't even think twice. I had two heads last year -- I don't know what you want me to say. Like there's nothing anybody can do on the show to shock me anymore," Paulson said.
As if the whole picture of The Addiction Demo wielding a conical dildo was not enough, Tommy DePaoli of Movie Pilot had something to add. Wes Bentley, who will be playing Detective John Lowe in Hotel, admitted in an interview with Larry King, that he was addicted to using the conical dildo in the past.
Meanwhile, FX has just released the first full trailer for "American Horror Story: Hotel." The 30-second video, first reported by Variety, was titled "Hallways" and features a sneak peek of each of the show's casts -- Lady Gaga, Paulson, Greenfield, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Finn Wittrock, Denis O'Hare and Cheyenne Jackson.
