Due to the huge success of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, many users are already looking forward to the release of the device. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is rumored to be introduced in October 2015.

Christian Post reported that fans expected the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 to be unveiled at the Microsoft event on September 24. However, the said event was clearly set up for the Microsoft Office 365. The recent price drop of the current laptop/tablet devices, as well as the development of Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, sparked rumors that Microsoft is preparing to release the next-generation Surface Pro soon. At present, people are speculating that the next possible launch date for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be on October 19, 2015. Microsoft has not yet confirmed any of these rumors as of this writing.

Geeksnack stated that the Surface Pro 4 will most likely focus on integrating the new Windows 10 and virtual assistant Cortana in to the Microsoft ecosystem. The powerful device is expected to come in two display sizes – 12 inches and 14 inches. Both screens will have QHD resolution, although there are also talks that these may feature 4K resolution. The device might be powered by the new Skylake H series processors in three different configurations. The device is said to feature a fanless design, which should not cause overheating problems, considering the efficiency and performance of the new Skylake chipsets. The Surface Pro 4 may have 4GB or 8GB of RAM and an internal memory beginning from 64GB moving up to 256GB.

The design is not expected to deviate much from the Surface Pro 3. The upcoming model may feature a premium metal chassis, a stylus and a TypeCover keyboard, which will be sold separately. Tech Radar wrote that accessories such as the Type Covers, Docking Station, power adapter and Ethernet adapter, among others, are said to be compatible for both the Surface Pro 3 and Pro 4. The stylus is expected to be enhanced, offering more features, its own drawing pad and improved sensitivity. The battery may also have a boost, even though the Surface Pro 3’s battery life was already good. When it launches, the Surface Pro 4 will also be the biggest hybrid from the company yet.

As for retail price, ITPro wrote that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 might begin at around $930 and move up to $2,499, depending on the specifications and model.

More updates and details on the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 are expected soon.
