Atlus has been teasing fans about the release date for one of video game's beloved Japanese role-playing gamer (JRPG) franchise. Seven months have passed since the first trailer was released, as if to further increase fans' anxiety. "Persona 5" was a no-show during the last E3, but it is expected to make an appearance for this month's Tokyo Game Show 2015. There are only two possible scenarios for Atlus to make: reveal another trailer or announce a definite release date. Perhaps even both.

According to the teaser website for the Tokyo Game Show 2015, Atlus will be present for the event. Although it shows Atlus' logo, it does not imply that "Persona 5" will be showcased.

Other news sources remain optimistic that the JRPG will be the star of the game developers' booth. According to Design & Trend, there is a high probability of such occurrence as there isn't any other game in development that has a closer release date. Although the re-mastered "Odin Sphere Leifthrasir" might also be part of the showcase, fans are to expect the game sometime in early 2016.

Further on, the report revealed that the Tokyo Game Show 2015 could be the final stage for Atlus to promote "Persona 5." What comes after TGS 2015 will be the holiday rush, where gamers will be too busy to even notice a release date. Design & Trend also mentioned that Atlus will have new materials to reveal during the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia thisSeptember 15. This might lead fans to assume that something big is about to be revealed, but fans should still take this information with a grain of salt.

In more recent news, Atlus has announced a Persona Special Stage, according to the Persona Channel. The announcement divulged that the special event will be on September 19. Performers such as Yumi Kawamura, Lotus Juice, Shihoko Hirata and DJ WAKA are scheduled to entertain guests.

With so many uncertainties, the fear of delay is still prominent. Since the TGS 2015 focuses on Japan, a delay in local release affects the North American and European release in an equal manner. Unconfirmed rumors about the international release date being close to the Japanese release schedule should appease avid followers of the franchise, but only a bit.

All of these questions will be answered either during the SCEJA event on September 15, or during the Persona Special Stage on September 19. It could be a trailer, hopefully, a release date, maybe even both. It's up to Atlus to appease the anxious fans.
