When it comes to cult following in video games, the "Fallout" franchise has a good number of loyal gamers. Bethesda has done wonders to this franchise---from the ingenious gameplay to the enthralling characters. Characters such as DJ Three Dog of Galaxy News Radio has become a fan favorite. Sadly, the DJ did not make the cut - Three Dog will not be part of "Fallout 4."

Considering Three Dog's popularity with those who played "Fallout 3," it was quite a shock that the Disc Jock was not included in "Fallout 4." According to Game Rant, the news truly was an upset for Erik Todd Dellums, who voiced DJ Three Dog. He tweeted his involvement in another "Fallout" game back in 2013. His claims made fans assume that his role would remain on the fourth installment of the franchise. Much to the fans' and Dellums' dismay, this was not the case. The confirmation of this news came from a tweet posted by Bethesda a few days ago. It mentioned the completion of voice recordings for "Fallout 4," where the voice actor expressed his sadness for not being part of the game.

The news did not fall on deaf ears. According to a video report by IGN on YouTube, Dellums' tweet two years ago was the first teaser fans received, and was actually sanctioned by Bethesda. Three Dog's voice actor made a series of tweets, which are now unavailable, quoting Bethesda's tweet and saying that the news was like a "punch to the gut." Erik Todd Dellums, though no longer part of the game, still held fans of the franchise in high regard saying, "Fallout fans are the best." Dellums seemed remorseful and hoped that his tweets did not cause any damage to his relationship with Bethesda. He even said that if the game developers ever need his voice, he is reachable.

In other news, Bethesda's mobile game "Fallout Shelter" has reached over 1 billion total play session, and players have created more than 85 million vaults and 29 million combined hours of playtime, according to Bethesda. The aforementioned statistics is mostly for the iOS version of the game. The numbers came from the time Bethesda announced and released "Fallout Shelter" during the last E3 until August 19, 2015. Less than a month ago, the Android version was made available via Google Play, adding more players, more shelters and more playtime. What started as an appetizer in preparation for "Fallout 4" has now spread on mobile phones around the globe.

Despite the absence of DJ Three Dog, Bethesda's "Fallout 4" remains one of the most highly anticipated games of the year. The hype seems to be maintaining a certain level, especially with the help of a very addicting mobile game. "Fallout 4" will be up for grabs on November 10, 2015.
