iPad Air 3 Not Coming This Month to Give Way to iPad Pro? [Rumors]

There are rumors that the iPad Air 3 might not release to give way to the iPad Pro. Previously, the iPad Air 3 was believed to launch on September 9, 2015, together with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Economic Daily News, a Taiwanese media outlet, reported that according to Liaoxian Yi, analyst of Fubon Bank, Apple decided to postpone the launch of the iPad Air 3 from September 2015 to 2016, so that the market can focus more on the highly anticipated iPad Pro. The laptop/tablet will be the company’s latest entry in the industry. Apple may have delayed the release of the iPad Air 3 to prevent it from cannibalizing the potential sales of the iPad Pro, considering that the two tablets are close in terms of display size.

Yibada stated that the iPad Pro will most likely release with the iPad Mini 4, which will be its smaller and less powerful alternative. The iPad Pro is said to feature a screen size of 12.9 to 14 inches with a resolution of 2732 x 2048, 4:3 aspect ratio and 264 pixel density. The displays are said to be provided by Sharp and Samsung. Furthermore, the iPad Pro will most likely run on the new OS X El Capital out of the box, Cult of Mac revealed. Being a laptop-tablet hybrid, the device will reportedly have a number of features that are present in both techs. The product is also believed to be powered by an A9 processor and feature Force Touch technology, NFC, USB Type-C support and a special stylus.

The iPad Mini 4 is expected to have a 7.9-inch screen, an 8-megapixel iSight rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front camera, an A8 processor and 16GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal memory. It is said to run on the iOS 9 out of the box

PC Advisor wrote that the iPad Air 2 was launched in October 2014. If Apple follows its usual pattern of releasing iPads, the third-generation of iPad Air may be unveiled on September 9, together with the two latest iPhones, or sometime in October 2015. The Apple iPad Air 3 is said to have the same 6.1mm thickness as its predecessor. The tablet might run on the A9X chip and have a 9.7-inch display with a 2048 x 1536 resolution and 261ppi. The new model might feature an 8-megapixel rear camera with multiple modes.

An official confirmation from Apple is expected soon regarding the release dates of the iPad Pro and iPad Air 3.
