Ronda Rousey Says She's an Antagonist: 'I'm Not Trying to Have Everyone Like Me'

Ronda Rousey seems to live by the belief that you cannot please anyone but then again, such may be the case why she considers herself an antagonist.

Rousey knows how to play her cards well. She is undefeated and has magnificently managed her time as far as defending the UFC Women's title and making appearances on Hollywood. She carries that tough girl persona that makes her the perfect villain in the movies.

How about in real life or in the UFC?

The champ doesn't play around and treats people the way they should be treated. That includes opponents she has faced in the Octagon, the last of which was Bethe Correia.

Recall how the Pitbull went a bit overboard by using a 'suicide' tweet that ended up getting the ire of Rousey. When Correia learned why Rousey got irked, she tried to offer an apology. However, Rousey would not accept it, believing it was an insincere one.

Prior to that, it was in 2013 after her bout with Miesha Tate. After winning, Rousey ignored it believing that it was made as a gesture of sportsmanship in front of a large crowd. She then poses a question on whether Tate would have offered her hand had it been just the two of them.

So, is Rousey unstable? Does she have a big hang up in life?

Taking all these instances, one would consider Rousey as a bad gal, a villain if you may. However, the best way to explain it all is perhaps Rousey has no time for people who are not who they actually are. Such is why she acts that way and could care less of what other people think.

"I'm the antagonist. Because the protagonist just reacts. They do nothing. The whole storyline, the whole everything that goes on is completely dependent on the antagonist. I'm the one that's forcing everybody to do something," Rousey said on the "Joe Rogan Podcast."

Summing it up, it is all about work. Rousey does what she is good at not to impress but to show what she is capable of.

"I'm not trying to have everyone like me -- I'm trying to have everyone care what I'm doing."

So do these statements make you hate Rousey? It seems to be a simple case of simply being herself and being the best at what she does. That incident with Tate may have gotten Rousey a lot of boos but look at how fans cheer her now.

Villain or not, Rousey could care less. At the end of her career, as Rousey says she will be retiring at the age of 30, here is what she has to say: "I think it's kind of funny there's so many people that just live to hate me, but when I'm gone, they're going to miss me."
