Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner Not Reconciling?

A "fairytale ending" seems bleak for Ben and Jen.

Putting a heartbreaking note to their ten-year relationship, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced on June 30, a day after their 10th wedding anniversary, that they were ending their marriage. It has been a "normal" two months since then, with the pair performing their usual parental duties. The couple's children remain a priority amidst the silent chaos surrounding their family.

However, in a recent report by Daily Mail, the former Mr. and Mrs. Affleck have spurred reconciliation rumours when they arrived separately last Thursday at the Brentwood Marriage Counseling Center in Los Angeles for their two-hour session.

People notes that the pair hadn't gone in months before their controversial split happened. The counselling "seems to be working" as the two were seen smiling post couples-therapy session. An onlooker, as reported by People, remarks that they "seemed to be getting along fine."

Two-time Oscar winner Affleck "flashed a particularly goofy grin" while making their exit out of the building just behind the Golden Globe winner Garner, Daily Mail notes. Noticeably without their wedding bands, they then left the premises via Affleck's black Dodge Challenger.

"They both seem much happier and relaxed," a source informs People. "They spent the past week enjoying the last days of summer and getting the kids prepared to start school again," the source adds. 

However, hopes were quickly squashed when an informant connected to the couple tells TMZ that "there is no reconciliation and no chance for one."

"It might seem from the outside that they both gave up on their marriage and stopped receiving counseling together, but that's not who they are," the source close to the couple divulges as per People. "They both had an insane summer and probably just had to take a break [from counseling]."

"The damage is already done. They're leading separate lives," TMZ's source says.

The sources also further that Affleck and Garner are civilized, especially when dealing with issues involving their three kids. "They are working with a professional because there are emotions involved and they want to make this transition as easy as possible for their family," says the informant, as told by Daily Mail.

Affleck is actually currently living in a Pacific Palisades home, having moved out of the family house's guest quarters.

The former couple have three children together: Violet (9 years old), Seraphina (6 years old), and Samuel (3 years old).
