The Nokia Lumia 920 has so far fared well in sales as the first Windows Phone 8 smartphone in the US, but those sales are expected to rise come Black Friday 2012.

Black Friday, the unofficial launch of the holiday shopping season, has seen retailers cut prices on numerous items and the Lumia 920 is no different.

The Nokia smartphone began to be sold in retailers on Nov. 9 with a price tag of $99.99 when signing a two-year contract while one-year contracts started at $299.99.

However, the exclusive carrier of the Lumia 920 - AT&T, is set to cut prices in half this weekend. AT&T is offering a $49.99 Lumia 920 in AT&T Company-Owned retailers but in select locations from Friday, Nov. 23 to Sunday, Nov. 25.

The special $49.99 price is only available when signing a two-year contract with the carrier and utilizing the minimum qualifying monthly voice and data plans.
