In what could be described as a record first-time in the history of AMC, the company is cooking an extraordinary meal for fans of "The Walking Dead" and "Fear The Walking Dead."

A mysterious character, that will eventually be included in "Fear The Walking Dead" season 2, will be introduced in a standalone episode of "The Walking Dead."

This thrilling twist was exclusively learnt by Entertainment Weekly, which rrported that AMC is cooking a "The Walking Dead" special standalone where a passenger plane is attacked by a zombie.

One passenger will survive the attack and will have his or her story continue in the show's companion, "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2.

EW is predicting that the setting of the standalone episode will be on board a flight travelling to Los Angeles.

But that is as far as it can predict about the project. There are lingering questions about this separate content and AMC is reportedly unwillingly to give clues on these.

Meanwhile, "The Walking Dead" season 6 will return on Oct 11.

As star Lauren Cohan put it, the next season will "have the most suffocating beginning to the season that" she has come to know so far.

"We always joke that the writers write these amazing action sequences from air-conditioned offices. And I think this season is no exception and definitely rises above," Cohan told EW.

According to Steven Yeun, some characters will "make strides in the direction of civility or civilization and a more regimented society" for the next season.

Executive producer Tom Luse described season 6 as the most ambitious project that AMC ever have.

Fans will see huge number of zombies in new locations, doing ambitious stunts with equally ambitious effects, Luse said in a blog posted on AMC's website.

Luse added that there are several things in this season that fans will immediately recognize as something straight from the comic.

Co-executive producer Denise Huth on the other hand talked about Lennie James' return as Morgan.

His story is very interesting, Huth said, explaining that Morgan has "been on quite a journey that we don't know about yet."

She added that "Rick has changed quite a bit," which opens a room for the two characters to be reacquainted with each other."

As for the season's premiere, Huth teased, "It's huge in a big, big way. It's something we've never seen before on the show. Even with having the road map of the comic, you still never know exactly where we're going!"
