Borussia Dortmund has established itself as one of the top teams in the UCL after knocking off Madrid in their first match and then holding them to a 2-2 draw at the Santiago de Bernabeu Stadium just two weeks ago.

The German side has been solid offensively, but has also been the top defensive side in Group D with just four goals against in four matches, including a clean sheet against Ajax. If they manage a win in their match against the Dutch side, they guarantee a spot in the round of 16. A draw also earns them a spot in the final 16. A loss however, puts the team in a tricky spot with Ajax just one point behind them, Madrid potentially tied or ahead of them, and Manchester City possibly a win away from eliminating them in their final match together.

Meanwhile Ajax desperately needs to win this game. The team looked dreadful in its first two matches, especially the 4-1 pummeling at the hands of Real Madrid on their own turf. However, they were able to pull off convincing results against a woeful Manchester City side and are currently in third place with four points. A win is huge, especially if Madrid fails to win.

Prediction: This one will be an interesting tilt as both sides have a great deal at stake. I sense an upset brewing with Ajax winning at home 3-2.
