One of the age-old questions that has been asked for years by Superman fans is this: which woman would better suit the Man of Steel? Wonder Woman or Lois Lane?

Star of the upcoming "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" and Superman himself, Henry Cavill, recently spoke about his point of view on the subject.

For those who are not in the know, Superman's alter ego Clark Kent is a mild-mannered reporter for the Daily Planet. One of his fellow reporters, Lois Lane, is infatuated with Superman and tries to cover any event that has anything to do with the Kryptonian superhero. Lois does not see much in Kent at first, seeing only a brown-nosed newbie reporter from Smallville, which ironically, is her nickname for Kent. Lois is also unaware that Clark is actually Superman, and that the antics that he has to go through to keep his secret identity comprise one of the main plots of the story.

Wonder Woman, on the other hand, is one of the strongest heroes in the DC universe. On countless times, she has saved the world alongside Superman with the Justice League. She is well aware of Superman's situation, and there has always been an uneasy tension between the two characters. This all changed in the New 52 timeline, in which the two heroes began seeing each other.

With that being said, there are many stories in which Clark and Lois actually become a couple and eventually get married. However, during an interview with Cosmopolitan, Cavill reveals that the discussion about who is actually Superman's ideal pair is not entirely clear.

On one hand, Wonder Woman knows basically everything about Superman and could have a relationship with him. She's a superhero and could stand toe to toe with Superman if need be. However, arguments between the two could lead to some world-shattering events.

On the flip side, an argument can also be made that Lois represents the human part of Clark, which keeps him grounded and more humane. The downside to Lois, according to Comicbook, would be more logistical than anything else. Could Lois and Clark consummate their relationship? Could Lois actually carry Superman's baby? Villains who discovered their secret would instantly put Lois in harm's way.

Cavill goes on to say that it's a debate that might never find an answer. Who do you think is better for the Man of Steel? Let us know in the comments below.
