A picture supposedly taken by a Google employee via a Nexus 5 (2015) smartphone spells more than a thousand pixels - 5MP, to be exact.

A staff from the company working in the Quality Assurance department leaked a new tidbit regarding the upcoming handset by this image - the soon-to-be-released Nexus model will allegedly have a 5MP selfie camera. And that the device is made by LG.

"The device employed for the photo is listed as 'Bullhead.' That happens to be the code name for the Nexus 5 (2015)," Phone Arena noted. "The Exif data also reveals that the device used to snap the selfie is made by LG."

"The data shows that the front-facing camera on the Nexus 5 (2015) will be a 5MP snapper (1944 × 2592) with an aperture of f/2.0. That will allow the camera to take quality photos even under less than optimal low-light conditions," the site added.

This new leak, as with all other leaks, is still worth taking with a grain of salt as Exif data can still be "faked."

Rumors about the upcoming smartphone appeared to be emerging on a gradually increasing frequency in the past few weeks. This is quite expected considering we're in the later part of the year, when the remaining gadget launchings are likely to happen. The Nexus 5 (2015) has been predicted to be introduced in October this year, which is just a little over a month away.

Previous reports allege that Google may release 2 versions of its flagship smartphones, with the larger one (5.7 inches) being made by Huawei and the smaller version - a 5.2-inch iteration - furnished by LG.

Tech news portals have pegged the LG model as having Full or Quad HD display quality, with "a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or Snapdragon 808 chip, 3GB of RAM and 32GB, 64GB or 128 GB internal storage options," as noted by iDigitalTimes.

Additionally, it's also rumored to have " a 3,180mAh non-removable battery and connectivity including 802.11ac Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.2 powered by a MediaTek MT3188 wireless charging receiver and a Marvell Avastar 88W8897 connectivity chip."

As for its design, reports said that it is "very likely the phone will have a fingerprint sensor below the camera lens, and a dual-LED flash using accompanied by LG's laser auto-focus module," according to Digital Trends.

There's also been rumors of the LG model as having a 3D camera with the admission of a local manufacturer that it had supplied the South Korean firm with 3D camera modules for a Nexus smartphone.

"It's unclear what this 3D module will do, but we don't expect it will be used for recording 3D video," the tech news portal said.
