Patrick Stewart had already reprised his legendary roles as Professor Xavier in "X-Men: Days of Future Past." He had also briefly appeared in "The Wolverine." Now that he is about to be seen again in TV for the Starz comedy "Blunt Talk," Stewart was asked if fans can eventually see him again as Captain Picard of the USS Enterprise in a possible "Star Trek" TV reboot.

Speaking with IGN, Stewart said that being seen on TV again as Captain Picard is "possible." He however thinks that "it's unlikely."

"The series wrapped over 25 years ago and we've got a rather elderly Captain Picard now. So I don't know. It would be... it could be entertaining," Stewart said more.

Nevertheless, Stewart did not close the door about the possibility of reviving the "Star Trek: The Next Generation," which ran from 1987 to 1994. IGN suggested for Stewart to talk his friend Seth Macfarlane, who is the executive producer of "Blunt Talk," into producing a "Star Trek" TV project in the future.

"Well, Seth is a huge Star Trek fan," Stewart told IGN.

Stewart's role as Captain Picard, a commander known for his "never say never" attitude, is truly an iconic one. The captain is emblazoned in the hearts of many. In fact, during an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, which was intended for "Blunt Talk," Reddit users put the spotlight on Captain Picard, too.

One user asked about Stewart's most favorite episode of the 1987 TV series. "My favorite episode is 'Inner Light.' It was a beautiful script, which for me was almost entirely located away from the Enterprise - and it's crew," Stewart said.

"And because I was given the chance to perform what Picard would have been like if his life experience had been different. But another important reason is that I had a son in that episode who was played by my son, Daniel Stewart," Stewart said further.

One Reddit user, CrexisNX, wrote that Captain Picard had been one of the most influential men in his life. "At a young and critical age when I had very few positive male role models in my life, you beautifully rendered in Captain Picard a powerful but temperate man worthy of emulation: externally rational but internally passionate, proud but grounded, diplomatic but resolute, shrewd but decisive," the Reddit user explained.

"Your work as Picard as an immensely positive presence, and I believe seeing him as an alternative helped me break more fully away from the influence of an angry, embittered, abusive father," added CrexisNX.
