Fans of the 80's kids TV show, "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe," have something to talk about. The reboot of the movie, which has been in developmental stages for years now, has finally gotten a writer for the script.

According to Variety, Christopher Yost is set to write a new script for the beloved characters of Eternia. For those who are not familiar with Yost, he was the primary script writer for both Thor movies. Previously, Yost had been working hard on several scripts for Marvel Studios before landing the script on the first Thor movie. Marvel Studios was so impressed with his work they hired Yost to help complete the script for "Thor: The Dark World."

AV Club reports that the movie will be made through a joint venture between Sony Pictures and Escape Artists. Escape Artists is the studio which brought big screen hits such as as "A Knights Tale," "The Weather Man" and the "Pursuit of Happiness." Escape Artists production office is on the Sony Studio lot, so it shouldn't be too difficult for the two companies to communicate with each other.

"He-Man and The Masters of the Universe" cartoon show ran from 1983 to 1985 and quickly gained a loyal fan base until now over 20 years later. The show follows the adventures of Prince Adam, who is just another normal person until he raises his magical sword and says the words: "By the power of Greyskull, I have the power!" After which, he turns into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe. He uses his powers to fight the forces of the evil Skeletor.

The series was mostly known for its very popular toy line as well as lighthearted tone. The original cartoon series spawned a live action movie which starred Dolph Lundgren. The movie did not do well in the box office when first released, but managed to gain a cult following over the years. A cartoon series reboot was done as well in the early 2000's. This series was received well and took on a more serious tone with a Japanese anime style animation.

Currently, there are still no actors connected with the movie as the script is still being written. Who do you think should play the new He-Man if the movie ever gets made? Do you think that this cartoon deserves a reboot over other 80's classics? Let us know in the comments section.
