Watch Kermit The Frog & Fozzie Bear In This Cover of N.W.A's 'Express Yourself

Two famous characters from “The Muppets” collaborate to come up with an amusing new video. Kermit the Frog The Frog and Fozzie Bear did their take of “Express Yourself” by the rap group N.W.A, and the video is becoming viral.

Mashable reported that Animal Robot, a YouTube user, came up with edited clips of “The Muppets” to create a new music video for N.W.A.’s “Express Yourself” from their 1988 album “Straight Outta Compton”. The video editor chose the perfect clips for the two characters to lip-sync the song well, Vulture reported.

In the video, Fozzy Bear was no longer a failed standup comedian. He had street credibility and is a notorious rapper. Kermit also played his banjo which adequately matched the vocal prowess needed to masterfully sing the tune. The Electric Mayhem was also on hand to help with the instruments, coming in at vital parts of the music video to play drums and saxophone, Mashable wrote.

At the start of the clip, which lasted two and a half minutes, Fozzie Bear was shown driving a car on a country road with Kermit who was either on his banjo or serving as navigator. More characters from the popular TV show were featured in the video beating on the drums, playing the sax and just nodding to the rap lyrics. At one point, Fozzie and Kermit almost hit another vehicle then the following scene featured Gonzo on the windshield then riding at the back with a chicken. Later on, they come across Big Bird hiking on the road. They stopped for a while to exchange words with Big Bird before moving on their opposite ways. The last part of the music video showed the two friends riding off into the sunset before everything faded to black.

Most of the lyrics were rapped by Fozzie Bear, while Kermit did a few lines in between to back him up with his banjo.

Billboard revealed that more music videos by “The Muppets” have also been shown in the past. The song “Shimmy ShimmyYa” by Dirty Ol’ Bastard was covered by Dr. Teeth while “Hip Hop Hooray” by Naughty by Nature was covered by Kermit the Frog. Other titles that the puppets covered include “Get Lucky” by Pharrell Williams and “So What’cha Want” by Beastie Boys. Footage from old shows were still gathered to create the lip-sync videos.

Muppets fans can only expect to see more rap tunes from the famous cast in the following months.
