As expected, Dolph Ziggler finally returned to the WWE on the last episode of RAW and probably just in the nick of time for his much awaited showdown with Rusev this coming Sunday at WWE SummerSlam.

The Showoff last appeared on July 6 episode of RAW, supposedly taken out by a vicious attack from the Bulgarian Brute. That storyline angle was of course a cover-up since Ziggler actually had to take a leave from the WWE scene to do filming for "6:42," a WWE Studios production that will also star Kane.

With Ziggler back, their expected tiff at WWE SummerSlam has been made official. It could very well serve as the end to the long-running feud that started off when Lana left Rusev and eventually hooked up with Ziggler.

Rusev has since gotten a new partner on his side with Summer Rae. With Ziggler out of action, Rusev had the chance to build some momentum after suffering a set of losses to current United States champion John Cena.

After consecutive losses, Rusev was lined up for a possible shot at the Intercontinental title at the WWE Elimination Chamber PPV last May 31, 2015 but an untimely injury (broken foot) suffered during one of the SmackDown tapings put the Bulgarian Brute in the sidelines.

Despite the injury, Rusev was still around in the WWE scene and it took Summer Rae to breathe in some life to the demoralized wrestler. After taking out Ziggler, Rusev would return to active duty with Lana still making occasional appearances to distract the Bulgarian Brute and getting it on with Summer Rae.

Ziggler actually made an appearance at a live event but it was only during the last episode of RAW that the Showoff officially made his return.

In what seemed to be déjà vu after Summer Rae applied the Accolade hold on Lana last week, this time would be different. Ziggler made his much awaited return and the two cleaned house over the heinous duo capped with a kiss between the reunited couple.

With the match now made official, it will be interesting who will come out the victor in this long running feud. Will Rusev barrel his way and dominate or will Ziggler use his agility and maneuvers to frustrate the dangerous Russian?

Outside the ring, how will Lana and Summer Rae behave? Will they get it on as well? Will Lana show off some of her wrestling skills? Most of all, will their outside ring activities play a vital role in determining who will be the winner between Rusev and Ziggler?

Only one way to find out and that is to watch WWE SummerSlam this coming Sunday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The PPV will be aired live via the WWE Network starting at 7 pm ET and 4 pm PT.
