Ronda Rousey could be back in the Octagon this coming December though it remains unsure who she will actually face. There are two possible opponents she could face – Miesha Tate and Cris Justino.

Of the two, Miesha Tate is the one that the UFC is leaning more on at least for now. Tate has already faced Rousey twice and lost on both occasions. So why would the UFC pair up Tate for a third time?

For one thing, Tate is the best UFC female fighter there is right now. Though she may have fallen twice, the fact remains that Tate was the toughest opponent Rousey ever had (if you compare the opponents that has disposed of lately).

When they first fought in 2012, Tate was highly criticized for risking long-term damage to her arm for resisting the dreaded armbar hold of Rousey. That alone gained Rousey’s admiration.

The two would meet again in 2013 with Rousey winning once more via submission with 58 seconds into the third round. What made that special was the fact that the feat gave Tate the distinction of being the only female fighter to last more than one round.

Those two stands against Rousey alone does seem to make Tate an logical choice, making one wonder what Tate has up her sleeves the third time around.

But before looking ahead hold on. There is a possible new opponent and such is something fans have been waiting for.

This is with reference Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino, someone that UFC fans want to lock up with Rousey.

Just last week, word broke out that the UFC had reached out to Cyborg for a possible fight with Rousey this coming December.

According to manager George Prajin via ESPN, a megafight involving the two would take place on December 5, 2015 at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

That bit apparently reinforced the prior claim of former Justino coach Tito Ortiz that there were indeed offers to Justino to fight Rousey.

Dana White termed the allegations as completely untrue.

"The problem is, this kind of thing gets out there and picks up momentum when there is no truth to it. And it was just something that [Ortiz] decided to make up. But it's not true," White told Yahoo! Sports.

So right now it seems that the only fighter confirmed for the December tiff is Ronda Rousey. Her opponent is a toss-up for now between Tate and Justino.

Curiously ( and if there is still time) why not hold a match between Justino and Tate to determine who faces Rousey in December?

Recall that one of the conditions that White wanted was for Justino to fight at least once before facing the reigning UFC bantamweight champion. The other is of course making the 135 pound catchweight.

Tate is open to the idea and Justino is most certainly willing for sure. But the question is if there is still time to make that happen.
